How to put a Service into Maintenance Mode

Modified on Tue, 6 Oct at 3:53 PM

Put a Service into Maintenance Mode to temporarily stop Requesters from submitting new Requests for it, while showing them a custom Message explaining why.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Step 1: Open the Service

Open the Service you want to pause and click Maintenance Mode.

See our How to create a new Service if you have not created the Service yet

Step 2: Enable Maintenance Mode

Turn the Is Under Maintenance switch on, and enter a Message (up to 200 Characters) explaining the Maintenance to your Requesters.

Requesters see this Message instead of the Request Form while the Service is Under Maintenance.

Step 3: Turn it off again

Open the same Dialog and turn Is Under Maintenance off again once you are done — the Service immediately accepts new Requests again.

Only Users with Manage Services Permission for this Service can change Maintenance Mode — see our Scoped Admin Roles Article if you manage Services via a scoped Role
