How to decide the Authentication Method

This Article should help to decide your preferred Authentication Method. 

Please keep in mind, once decided it is not planned to switch your Authentication Methods. There is a Migration plan to switch from OnPrem to EntraID, but not the way back

Introduction

With the Release of 5.1, we introduced Azure EntraID as an Authentication method. This does not change the fact that au2mator Self-Service Portal still needs to run on a Windows Server and IIS.
The EntraID Implementation means you can directly connect au2mator and all security-related Topics directly to your Entra ID. 

OnPrem (Active Directory)

As we did in the past 10 Years, connect your au2mator Self-Service Portal to your local Active Directory. Here you have a native Windows Login based on your Active Directory Groups and Users.

Cloud (Azure EntraID)

With this selection, you can directly sign in with your EntraID Credentials and use EntraID Groups for access control. This means native MFA integration and native conditional access rules are available within au2mator Self-Service Portal.
