Introduction to Question Type

When you want your Requester to pick an existing Asset from your Asset Management module, the Asset Question Type is what you are looking for. The Requester gets a picker to select one Asset, and the selected Asset is passed on to your Automation.

Settings

  • Scope
    • Choose which Assets the Requester is allowed to pick from: All (every Asset), Team (Assets of the Requester's Team) or User (only Assets assigned to the Requester).

  • Category
    • Optionally restrict the picker to one or more Asset Categories (for example only Notebooks). Leave empty to allow every Category.

  • Enable Actions
    • Turn this on to show an additional Action Button next to the picked Asset. Enter the Action Name that should be displayed on that Button.

Details

Asset is our newest Question Type, built on top of the Asset Management module. The Assets shown here come from the same Data Model used throughout Asset Management (Hardware Asset, Category, Model, Company, Location, Room, and so on).

Asset Management must be set up with at least one Hardware Asset before this Question Type is useful for your Requesters.
