That is where everyone works with Assets day to day – finding them, opening them, and keeping them up to date. This Page is only visible for Members of an Asset Admin, Asset Editor or Asset Reader Group.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
Asset List
The Asset List is the main view. It shows your Hardware Assets with the Columns and Filters of the View you have selected, and supports search and paging. See View Configuration for more Details
Views and Columns
Which Columns and Filters appear is defined per View, and the Columns themselves are defined per Category. See View Configuration and Column Definition for more Details
Asset Details
Opening an Asset shows its full record – identification, Details, Warranty, assignment, location, Status, Billing and any Custom Fields of its Category, each in its own Section. See Hardware Asset for more Details
Configuration Items
Non-hardware records such as licences or services are kept as Configuration Items and can be linked to an Asset. See Configuration Item for more Details
History
Every tracked change to an Asset is recorded and can be reviewed on the Asset itself. See Asset History for more Details
Warranty
Warranty dates can be fetched from the manufacturer instead of being maintained by hand. The Warranty Tab also shows how many Sync Attempts an Asset has used, as 1 of 5. See Warranty Sync for more Details
Billing
Assets are charged to a Cost Center by Billing Rules, and individual Assets can be excluded. See Billing Rule and How to exclude an Asset from Billing for more Details
Who Sees What
What a user may see and change on this Page is decided by their Asset role and, where configured, by the Asset Manager Scope. See Roles & Permissions for more Details
Master data such as Categories, Models, Companies and Locations is not maintained here. That is done on the Settings Page.
New to Asset Management? Getting Started walks through the order in which to set things up before the first Assets arrive.
