Difference between TargetUser and InitiatedBy

Modified on Mon, 22 Jan at 11:58 AM

In au2mator Self-Service Portal, we have 2 USer Types we reference. This article should help clarify the difference.

TargetUser

The target user is the user for whom a service is started.

When you start a Request and "Limit to MySelf" is inactive, you can select a single or multiple Users for which you want to start a Request. Those selected Users are the "TargetUsers"

When "Limit to MySelf" is active, the User who starts the Request is automatically the TargetUser.

See our Start a Request (Page) for more Details

InitiatedBy

The InitiatedBy User is always the User who started the Request.
