User

In Asset Management, a User (Asset User) is the person Hardware Assets can be assigned to or owned by. User records are managed through the Asset User API, separately from Self-Service Portal login accounts.

Overview

Asset Users are referenced as Assigned To and Owned By on Hardware Assets, and as Asset Manager on Companies, Locations and Rooms.

Core Fields

• Name
• First Name
• Last Name

User Principal Name

Upn (User Principal Name) is the one field on a User that is required — every User must have one.

Location, Company and Room

A User can be linked to a Location, a Company and a Room to describe where they physically work.

Cost Center

Used when billing is driven by the assigned User rather than by Asset, Company or Location.

Group Membership

A User can be a member of one or more Groups, which is used for example to resolve a Company's or Location's Asset Manager Group.
