A Group in Asset Management is a collection of Asset Users, typically mirrored from Active Directory/Entra ID, used to assign responsibility (e.g. as an Asset Manager Group) to more than one person at once.

Overview
Groups can be assigned as the Asset Manager Group on a Company, a Location or a Room instead of (or in addition to) a single User.
Core Fields
- Description
Name
Name is required on every Group and cannot be empty.
Directory Identifiers
- Entra Object Id – the group's object id in Microsoft Entra ID.
- Group Type – free-text indicator of the group's origin/type.
- On Prem Object Guid and On Prem Object Sid – identifiers for groups synced from an on-premises Active Directory.
Members
A Group holds a list of member Users. Members can be added or removed individually, and the full member list can be read per Group or, the other way round, all Groups a given User belongs to can be looked up.
API Functions
- GetAllGroups – paged list of all Groups.
- GetGroup – a single Group by id, including its Members.
- GetGroupMembers – paged list of Users that belong to a given Group.
- GetGroupsForUser – paged list of Groups a given User belongs to.
- CreateOrUpdateGroup – create a new Group or update an existing one, including its member list.
